VITO

VERDICCHIO

dei Castelli di Jesi

DOC CLASSICO SUPERIORE

Grape variety

100% Verdicchio

Harvest period

Early to mid-September

Vineyards

The grapes come from the vineyards in the Sant’Amico zone, which are situated, with different exposures, at an average altitude of 200 meters above sea level. These are principally mixed, clay-based soils, with a substantial sand content.

In the vineyard

Care for our terroir is our constant preoccupation, including in the way we look after our vineyards. In fact, we grow our grapes organically, without any chemical herbicides; we grow cover crops and use green manure. Also, to keep the bunches cool at harvest time, we usually cover them with the leaves during the stages of ripening, so that they are not subjected to any kind of stress.

Harvest

The Verdicchio grapes are picked by hand, selecting the very best fruit from each
individual vineyard site.

Vinification

We like to use a phrase that explains the philosophy we work with: we employ the simplest vinification in the world, seeking to put into the wine exactly what there is in the grapes.

Maturation

It remains on its fine lees in stainless steel for approximately 6 months. It is filtered and bottled in March, but it expresses itself to the full after the summer.

Tasting notes

A golden yellow, with youthful green highlights. An appealing, lively nose, with notes of yellow-fleshed fruits and attractive floral hints. Vibrant and dynamic in the mouth, with a nice freshness and substantial but not heavy fruit on the middle palate. A long, tangy finish. Persistent.

Concept

The new label designed for Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi DOC Cl. Sup. VITO is inspired by the owner’s life path and is a symbolic portrait that also wants to express his passion for art. The shapes represented allude to the two worlds in which he is the protagonist: on the left a linear and metallic shape tells us of his entrepreneurial past in steel, while on the right the reference to the olive leaf suggests the second phase of his life. In the center an ascending, spiral line leads us from bottom to top to the representation of a grape. The gold foil surfaces have been further enriched by micro embossing which, in addition to providing tactile sensations, underlines the different nature of the elements represented, increasing the perceived value of the dressing.

COSTA LISIANO

MARCHE ROSSO

I.G.T., OBTAINED FROM LACRIMA GRAPES

Grape variety

100% Lacrima

Harvest period

Mid-September

Vineyards

The grapes come from vineyards at an altitude of over 200 meters above sea level, near  which a small stream called the Lisciano flows, from which the wine’s name derives. The soils, with southeasterly exposure, are a mix of clay and sand, with a considerable calcareous content. This characteristic is particularly important because it gives refined aromas and elegance to the wines.

Vinification

We like to use a phrase that explains the philosophy we work with: we employ the simplest vinification in the world, seeking to put into the wine exactly what there is in the grapes. The hand-picked grapes are vinified with a long maceration and subsequent very gentle extraction.

Maturation

It remains on its fine lees in stainless steel for approximately 6 months, before being filtered and bottled in March.

Tasting notes

Its color is a vibrant, bright ruby. The nose is decidedly unusual: balm-like and floral, with notes that recall the aromas of the Mediterranean and spices, along with delightful hints of sandalwood. It is fresh and lively in the mouth, with attractive sweet, grapey notes on the middle palate, as well as persistent, saline depth.

Concept

The label of Costa Lisiano wine represents the characteristic walkways in the walls of Morro D’Alba, dating back to the 13 th century. From here the estate grounds and the winery are visible and here a young Vito saw his dream born day by day.

A dream in which, through these wines, we too can take part.
